Part II – The choice made by the angels and the humans

From the book Rewriting History – The Universe and Its Inhabitants[1]

The division of the angels

  1. The angels

Nothing occurs in the material reality without occurring previously in the spiritual reality. Spiritual events always precede the real ones; what occurs in spirit reflects on matter. This is the first law acting in the universe. Thus, blessed are those who know how to read the events of the spirit as they will never be confused.

From the moment of creation until today, many spiritual events have occurred causing major repercussions on the sensible world. Some of these were of such magnitude as to mark a turning point in the life of all creation. Thus, the universe has not always been the way it is today. In order to understand why, we must take a great step back.

God created, first of all, the spiritual dimension in which He placed the pure spirits, that is, the angels. God created them in His image and likeness. The angels’ image and likeness of God appears in form of light and power.[2] They are, indeed, sublime beings, of great splendour and supreme power, capable of carrying out perfectly God’s orders.

God wanted the angels to be PRIESTS of the Most High God, that is, the ones who would have celebrated the Heavenly Liturgy contemplating the face of God, giving thanks to God and offering Him the whole creation so that it would increase in beauty and harmony. Given their great intelligence and knowledge of the laws of the universe they would have been able to accomplish God’s plans in creation through the tasks entrusted to them.

God informed the angels of His project to create man who would also be made in His image and likeness. Man and angels would have lived together in communion sharing the same glory and the same fate, which would be that of being the most sublime creatures capable of governing the universe in the name of God. The mission of the angels would have been to intervene mainly in their own spiritual dimension; man would have intervened in the dimensions that were composed of spirit and matter. Angels and men, in communion with each other, would have carried out God’s plans by governing and guarding the whole creation in the name of God with the power, intelligence and knowledge that God would have granted them abundantly.

  1. Lucifer’s betrayal

Among the angels Lucifer was the most powerful, closer to God than any other angel. He had been placed to head the angelic hosts and destined to bring everywhere the power and the light of God. Yet, Lucifer was not sincere; he only pretended to be submitted to God. In reality, he considered himself another god and above all others. Thus, he was only waiting for the right moment to stand up against God and take the place of the only true God and hold the other angels submitted to him. As soon as he learnt about God’s intention to create man, cunning and opportunistic as he was, he began to seek allies among the angels in order to overturn the divine order and take the leadership over the whole creation. He found six who were very similar to him: Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Ispel, Astarte, Belial and Anubis, to whom he promised strength and power. Many others joined them.[3]

Lucifer did not want to share his glory with anyone, let alone with creatures like human beings made both of matter and spirit. He could not bear the fact that man would be made in the image and likeness of God like the angels and bestowed with intelligence and knowledge, neither could he tolerate that the angels should sink to the level of working with man. A large number of angels let themselves be seduced by Lucifer who promised them honour and glory. In reality, his intentions were quite different: he had decided that all other angels would be only slaves at his orders. He would use them for his rebellion and subjugate them afterwards.

This was Lucifer’s way of action; it is still unchanged and will remain so until the end of times. Miserable is the man who lets himself be deceived by him as he will find only misery.

At the head of a third of all angels, Lucifer rebelled openly against God attacking the angels who had remained faithful to God in an attempt to defeat them and make them forever his slaves. However, the faithful angels could not be intimidated. Michael, the most powerful angel after Lucifer, stepped forward to counter the rebels. Immediately six other equally strong angels joined him: Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Jehudiel, Sealtiel and Barachiel and along with them many others.[4]

A tremendous battle between the faithful and the rebellious angels broke out which ended with the victory of the faithful angels. After the battle, God pushed Lucifer and his angels out of the dimension of pure spirit where they were. They stopped being priests and angels of light as God withdrew the grace and His Spirit from them. In His mercy He left them the breath of life and the knowledge they had acquired until then; the knowledge was considerable. Finally, he created the Great Barrier of Heaven to protect the spiritual dimension.

Lucifer and his fallen angels were thrown below the Great Barrier of Heaven into Hell, which is an abnormal dimension: it is a spiritual dimension as the demons are spirits; however, it can by no means be compared with the dimension where the angels live. In this way, Lucifer and his demons were no longer allowed to disturb the angels or to contaminate the dimension of pure spirit. From that moment Lucifer and the demons hated God openly with all their strength, although they continued to fear Him.

This attitude is typical of the arrogant and dishonest spirits: they think they are the strongest and cannot bear being submitted to God; yet, they are cowards, and thus they fear Him. They fear to see their reflection in God, to see their misery and to repent. They are fleeing constantly without knowing where to go, oppressed and frightened by the evil they have created themselves. Consequently, they have no peace. This is the damnation of the demons and many men who follow them.

The choice of Lucifer and his angels would open up new scenarios in the universe. Now, no longer only Good, that is, God, existed in creation but also Evil, that is, Lucifer. The latter, who thought to be like God, had become the antagonist of God, becoming the beginning of evil, for he had conceived it in himself to the disadvantage of the entire creation. From then on, every creature would inevitably be confronted with two opposite realities which were present and active in the universe: Good and Evil.

Every creature would have to choose between the one or the other. The first to choose were, as already mentioned, the angels. Then, it was man’s turn.

The Creation of Man and Original Sin

  1. Humanity put to the test

God’s plan to create man as a sublime being capable of collaborating with the angels in complete communion with them did not change after Lucifer’s fall. God created man and woman in His image and likeness. He created them immortal, endowed with great intelligence and beauty as well as the ability to know God and to choose good.

In God’s plans man and woman were to be united with each other, not only to produce offspring, but also to welcome the life of God and impart it on the whole creation, and thus incarnating God’s FATHERHOOD and MOTHERHOOD and making them visible.

Man and woman were both meant to be PRIESTS: together they would have offered the entire creation to God making themselves channels of life and blessing for each creature and celebrating, along with the angels, an eternal liturgy of praise to the Creator.

God did not create only one male and one female. He created several couples who formed a small people who were the first nucleus of humanity. God wanted them to live in peace producing their offspring and offering it to Him being in harmony with the angels who were their brothers and collaborators. First of all, He asked them to remain faithful to Him choosing always good and not to seek to know evil, that is, Satan, for by seeking to know him, they would have remained trapped.[5]

God showed every man and woman the existence of Evil and enabled them to understand Lucifer’s choice and its consequences so that they too would be able to make their choice. He asked each one of them whether he wanted to serve God or Lucifer. If humanity had chosen to serve God, it would not have experienced evil within itself but only watched it from a distance avoiding any contamination by it. Humanity would have kept the immortality and intelligence given by God. If humanity had followed Lucifer, though, it would have experienced evil within itself, being contaminated to the point of suffering corruption and death and losing a large part of its intelligence.

After showing them the consequences of both choices, God left every man and woman free to decide according to their desires and their intelligence. He promised them to always respect their freedom.

  1. Original sin

The progenitors of humanity had originally been destined to live in a very beautiful dimension composed of spirit and matter. They were to live in a world uncontaminated by evil where creation would have respected man submitting to Him willingly. Had humanity chosen freely to serve God and ignore Evil, this marvellous place you call Eden would have belonged to humanity forever. It would have been closely connected to the dimension of pure spirit where the angels live. Men and angels could have moved freely from the dimension of pure spirit to the both spiritual and material dimension in which man lives and vice versa. The Great Barrier of Heaven would have been protected forever from the influence of Lucifer and his demons who would never have been able to cross it.

One by one and couple by couple your progenitors, fathers and mothers of humanity, were asked by God and confronted with Lucifer whose goal was to destroy forever the hated man who had caused him to fall so tragically. In his mad plan Lucifer was convinced that man would sin out of pride, exactly as he had done, and that, consequently, God would have thrown man below the Great Barrier of Heaven, out of the dimension man had been originally placed, exactly as had happened to Lucifer. Once fallen, man would have become forever his slave and Lucifer would have governed below the Great Barrier.

In his ill thoughts Lucifer imagined, as he still does, that one day he would defeat God and sit on His throne, taking revenge for the punishment he suffered, thus tyrannising the entire creation. Lucifer has always been aware of the fact that this will never occur; in fact, he has kept the knowledge he had as an angel of light; therefore, he knows very well that no force in the universe can counter the omnipotence of God. He knows that he is a creature, but, stubborn and blinded by his pride as he is, he pretends not to know and fools himself and his followers, promising them a kingdom that will never come. Thus, those who follow him delude themselves and, sooner or later, they will experience disappointment and bitterness.

The progenitors were asked to choose between God and His promises and Lucifer and his deceptions. That which had already occurred among the angels occurred also among men who were divided in different groups. A small group of progenitors, both individuals and couples, chose God. They decided to remain faithful to God, forever consecrating their offspring to Him and exercising their priesthood fully at the service of creation in communion with the angels. In these men the love of God and the faithfulness to His laws prevailed.

Many of the progenitors remained undecided even though they did not rebel against God. This occurred because of the individuals’ indecision and lack of agreement within the couples. It happened that in some couples, the man was willing to serve God but the woman hesitated, confusing him, or the other way round. Those couples were afraid of taking the responsibility God presented to them, but they did not believe Lucifer either. They remained neutral, so to say, maintaining a certain distance both from God and Lucifer. They decided to live in peace with one another as much as possible. They would have cared only for themselves and their offspring, keeping correct behaviour towards their fellows as long as they were equally correct to them. In these men fear prevailed and made them selfish; they withdrew into themselves renouncing the priestly service in favour of creation.

The rest of humanity chose to follow Lucifer with varying levels of loyalty, however. Some couples decided to believe totally in Lucifer’s lies stipulating a terrible alliance with him which would cause grief and misfortune on the path of entire humanity. This alliance was based on subjugation to the demons and contempt for God and the angels, the consecration to Lucifer of the firstborns and the commitment to counter by all means those who had chosen to serve God. Other couples gave in to Lucifer but did not want to go as far as to offer their firstborns. However, they refused to serve God and to live in communion with the faithful men and the angels. Among these men rebellion, pride and ambition prevailed and led them to refuse the gifts and promises of God to pursue the vain flatteries of Lucifer who promised them dominion over the whole universe. As a result, they lost their identity and forgot to be children of God.

Humanity was divided and a great part of it abandoned God, partly rebelling openly against Him, partly turning its back to Him with indifference to follow its own wishes and plans. This was the first sin committed by the creatures: original sin, from which all other sins originated in the history of humanity. Evil, once again, had divided the spirits.

What had happened among the angels was repeated among men, affecting the whole creation, which would undergo profound changes following the fate of man to whom it had been submitted by God.[6]

[5] It has been explained to us that the name of Satan does not refer to a specific spirit but to the spirit of evil in general and the infernal powers as a whole composed of innumerable demons, each one with its own name. Therefore, when we speak about Satan we refer to the whole of the infernal forces.
