On this Divine Mercy Sunday and throughout the week, let us allow these words of Saint Michael to sink into our hearts.
“Offer yourselves and your sufferings to God for the salvation of humanity. Being sensitive and weeping about other people’s pains or tragic events in the world may be mere compassion. Even non-believers can feel this, carried away by easily stirred emotions. Once the moment of emotion passed, they forget everything and return to selfishness. However, when you offer yourselves and your sufferings for others, you become co-redeemers with Christ and actively participate in His plan of salvation. You unite with the great prayer of Jesus, who intercedes for humanity. This act of love on your part will make you step out of your selfishness and give true meaning to your suffering. You will find divine comfort in every trial, and you will be at peace. Step out of yourselves, and you will find new paths for your life.”
