Medjugorje, 43rd anniversary of the apparitions

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

We celebrate this feast, which I think for us presents two aspects: an aspect of thanksgiving to God for the gift of Mary Most Holy, but also an aspect of sadness; to see that after forty-three years Mary Most Holy has still not been welcomed and to think of the whole dimension of graces that has been lost weighs heavily on us. To think that humanity would be different, as it has been many times in history, simply by welcoming God, by welcoming God’s gifts, because welcoming Mary was neither bad nor difficult. This humanity not only does not want the Lord but does not even want the gifts the Lord grants. Then this humanity uses all excuses of theology, of truth, but basically it is saying to God, “Stay at home”, or shortly, “We do not need You”.

To follow Mary Most Holy and to learn from Her means in a certain way to be able to go beyond all this, not with a goodness that exceeds God’s; a goodness that must allow everyone to change, however, in truth. This does not mean that you can reject Mary, because you will be forgiven anyway… let us be careful. We must not condemn, we must not judge, but this rejection weighs heavily on humanity. Let us try to elevate it. Let us consecrate everything to Her and to Jesus.

Message of Most Holy Mary of June 24, 2014:

“Beloved children,

I bless you with great joy. I bless each of you and all your homes; they are God’s homes, because everything you do, you do for Him and everything you have, comes to you from Him.
I bless the book that you have given me and that I will give to God. With this book, a new phase of your history begins: divulging it and living its contents will be very challenging for you. However, it will also be very beautiful and profound; it will be a renewal of your life with God.
I am glad of your steps and happy that I can give you to God at all times. I know that I can count on your offering and I thank you for it.

To all of you here present, to those living in your homes and to the people united around you, I renew today this promise I made to you long ago: you will be my little Medjugorje wherever you are. It is a grace that I grant you, but it is also a strong commitment and a great responsibility. I trust you and I know that your heart is ready for the Lord, I know your sincerity and that is enough for me. Do not worry if you feel small, if you feel poor; I also felt that way before Archangel Gabriel, but the Lord goes beyond any poverty, because He is the source of all wealth.

Today more than ever and in the time to come I ask you to remain united to my Heart and to the Heart of St Joseph, and in us both be united to Jesus, for without Him you can do nothing. I will always be at your side, for a mother always remains at the side of her children; even when everyone else gets tired of it, the Mother remains. Always count on my presence and I will also count on you; I will count on my little Medjugorje wherever you are.
I bless you with all my love, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

 

For us really it is a feast to remember the apparitions of Mary Most Holy in Medjugorje, to read the words that She told us ten years ago. She talked about a book; and that book was “The Universe and Its Inhabitants”[1], we had given it to Mary after we finished printing it and as we heard She took it to God. You could talk about Medjugorje, about Mary Most Holy, describe what happened, describe… what She wanted. There are clear messages where She says, “What I wanted from Medjugorje, what I want from you.”[2] I, however, asked myself some questions that I turn over to you as well, and I believe that this is the best way to thank God for the gift of Mary Most Holy and to thank Her.

The first question is: what is Medjugorje for me? What does it mean? What did it achieve? Why Medjugorje? I cannot just say Medjugorje is the same as Fatima or as another place. I can see the connection there is between Fatima and Medjugorje, but I cannot discard to question what Medjugorje is.
It has been forty-three years that She has been among us, that She is with me (and everyone may question himself) – forty-three years. We know that She came to form a people, form it for the last times. Then I have to ask myself: does this people exist? I do not want to answer, I ask you to answer. It is important that we feel we live these answers, each one, I cannot give them. The other question is: Am I part of that people? Have I allowed myself to be formed?

By now we know: Medjugorje is also the portal of the Face of Mary. What is it? What does it mean? How does the knowledge of all that I know touch my life? – Not just the messages, let us say, from the parish, but all the guidance I have had, all that I find on this site. Do they touch me? Do they question me? We do not necessarily have to know how to answer, but at least they have provoked five minutes of questioning us? How come all these things?

If we want to do a little bit of history – in which I should also appear with my life – what has Mary’s presence changed in Medjugorje, in the world and in me? What did it change? Did we continue our life? Is it the same whether She is there or not? What has She done? We know that millions of people go to Medjugorje. Did that change history? Did those people meet God? Have I encountered Him?

Perhaps those who go to Medjugorje now encounter God less, but those who went there the first years found a place where extraordinary signs were more than the norm, they were daily life. Very beautiful words were spent on Medjugorje, as on other sanctuaries – “Confessional of the world” – many new communities were born, mixed communities started, communities that were supposed to or did (I do not want to answer that) bring a new wind. But is that wind still there? I have asked myself that question. Because, if I love Our Lady and She came for a task – She did not come for a walk – She came to tell us something, She came to bring life, She came to bring directions: did we respond? Did I respond? Or did I use Her? “Oh look, there is also Our Lady whom I can ask to help me a little bit to live the way I like, the way I need, the way I want.”

To help me discern, I looked at how She had done it in Her pedagogy: She wanted from the parish to form a little remnant that was to be the sign for all humanity. Now She calls us “The little Medjugorje wherever you are.” I think we could say: we are that little remnant, or we have to be, as the parish was to be. She guided the parish step by step until She stopped appearing, or rather She appeared crying. She had chosen three witnesses besides the visionaries: Father Slavko, Father Jozo and Father Tomislav. Our Lady had chosen them; the world rejected them.

If we continue to look at history, I saw that initially the parish resisted, initially they defied the communists, the communist empire (that still existed back then). Father Jozo got eighteen months in jail; Father Slavko died climbing Križevac; the communists thought of throwing Father Tomislav out of the parish. Then later, and I am not going to say how – everyone may see it as he wants – Lucifer slipped in. And what did he do? I say this, because in my opinion, if we do not look at the truth, we cannot even change: he brought everything on a human level. And when I say on a human level, I do not just think of stores, hotels – those can also be there – he brought the message of Mary Most Holy on a human level, he brought it on the flat level of survival. It did not bring that newness that Mary wanted. Slowly everything faded.
Now the inhabitants of Medjugorje are even happy with the Vatican’s statements that there is nothing supernatural. But they are happy because that is how the Vatican has spoken. So it is like saying: the Vatican counts more than Our Lady, right? In the Vatican there are all those big gentlemen dressed in red, then there is one in white. That is, the Vatican matters, Our Lady does not. They want to erase everything, keep it as a shrine where one may go to and pray but where there is nothing supernatural. There is nothing supernatural anymore, God has been thrown out of the world.

This was supported by some people– and I say this also for truth, hoping they will convert, I pray for their souls – who elected themselves witnesses but arrived there five years later. They are the witnesses of Medjugorje, but witnesses who had not been there. This is the truth. And they speak for Medjugorje, when they do not even know what Medjugorje is; they were not there. Look that this, unfortunately – always in truth, in the hope of change, it is not a judgment, it is always possible to change, and I hope everyone will change – is the history of the Church after the apostles. When the apostles died, the Church went like this: it always did and tried to extinguish the actions of the Holy Spirit, always, only to recognize them after hundreds of years, but while those actions were alive the Church always tried to extinguish them, trying to normalize everything. If we want to look at Fatima, Lourdes, it was like that there too. Around Fatima, besides the three visionaries, so many realities had started. Everything has been stifled.

We are now told, “You are my little Medjugorje. It is a grace that I give you, but it is also a strong commitment and a great responsibility”. I think that if we also do not put ourselves before Mary Most Holy – if we do not want to put ourselves before God – and really in all the offerings of life that we make, let Mary take over our lives to bring that plan to fruition, to use us as She wants, putting this first, first of all, and if we do not do so, I think that we cannot say: “Mary, I love You.” We must also tell Her the truth: “We would like to love You, but we are not able to; I do not have the strength, I cannot do it. I have a whole world against me, I have my self against me. Even the Christians are against me, I have everyone against”.

But let us not hide behind justifications. I think it would be an offence to Mary, who nevertheless loves us even if we tell Her, “I cannot, I do not feel like it”. She loves us just the same and intercedes for us just the same. Do not tell Mary that you love Her in order to receive Her intercession. You have Her intercession just the same; She loves us just the same and, if She has some miracle to do to us, She does it just the same. However, let us be honest: the greatest thing She has asked us for is the opportunity to participate in a plan of God together with Her. That is the greatest gift She has given us in these forty-three years: to spend our lives for Her, to live for Her, to live with Her, to be with Her, to pray with Her, to act with Her, to do miracles with Her. This is the gift of Mary, of Medjugorje.

Look that all the knowledge that through Mary Most Holy, through this site as well, we have come to have (to know a little bit more of God’s thinking; and let us think about the book we published “The Universe and Its Inhabitants” that presents history according to God’s view) should increase in us the love for Him and the desire to be His. On the contrary, if you know someone better and better, and that Someone is the Lord or Mary Most Holy, but you continue to be as you were before, that means that you reject Him. If we have come to know Him and do not follow Him, we have rejected Him. I repeat: this is not a judgment, it is not a criticism.

I would really like to present to Mary Most Holy, today, together with our thanks, the request for forgiveness for all those who have not accepted Her, all those who have used Her not on purpose, all those who have not done it with malice, with wickedness; all those who are stuck in systems, in dogmas, in all those complicated things that want to make faith something unattainable, impossible. I wish to place them all in the Heart of Mary now, so that this humanity, so that every soul who has been to Medjugorje, every soul who has received the message of Medjugorje, may finally allow themselves to be guided, loved and transformed by Mary, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
