5. On the way to encountering Jesus Christ

We have tried to present the figure of the Father, to present His love, His essence, which is love[1].

On Monday we celebrated the Immaculate Conception and we can say that Mary Most Holy is the miracle of the Father, She is the beloved Daughter, She is the One in whom the plan of the Father and His thoughts were perfectly realised.

Mary Most Holy was conceived without sin and is an example for us with Her path in which She continuously said ‘yes’ to God in life, in every situation and not only from when the Archangel Gabriel appeared but even before: She was brought to the temple at three years of age and lived there, She agreed to marry St Joseph determined by the high priest as it was the custom of the time. With the Archangel Gabriel She began to say ‘yes’ to everything She encountered in life here on Earth, and I would say that with Her obedience to the Father, Her being completely immersed in God’s will, She began to say ‘yes’ even in Heaven, because even in Heaven She continues to be perfectly united with the Triune and One God. In doing so, Mary Most Holy is an example and model for every human being, who is made up of spirit, soul and body, for what a human being is and what he or she can become if they are obedient to God, entering into and returning to the mind of God. Mary opens the way for us, She generates us and is an example to us.

In fact, we have the opportunity to achieve this fullness through Jesus, to return to the Father. But above all, this fullness occurs when we welcome Mary Most Holy, consecrate ourselves to Her Immaculate Heart, and She offers us to Jesus and Jesus to the Father. We enter into the order that has always been in the mind of God. Mary Most Holy is the Mother, the Mother of every child of God, the Mother of the Church, and anyone who wants to unite with the Son, to go to the Father, is generated by Mary; there is no other way. It is She who generates children of God, generates men and women to the life of God. Her motherhood is divine and remains in a certain sense a mystery precisely because of those nine months She carried the Author of life in Her womb.

She is called the Mother of God because She truly is so in Jesus; She is the beloved Daughter. Between Her and the Father arises this mysterious but simple dimension, if you look at it, where, as the Spouse of the Holy Spirit, the beloved Daughter of the Father, She becomes the Mother of Jesus-Man. She enters perfectly in the Trinity by this motherhood in which She carries Jesus in Her womb and with all Her saying ‘yes’ to God’s will, She becomes the Mother of the new people. Everything that will enter into the new creation is generated by Mary; it cannot be otherwise. As I said, this is a mystery, but it is a mystery that becomes light if, in simplicity, we enter into that love of Mary, of God, and ask for it to be explained to us. It is explained to us by living it. It will not be explained to us if we want to understand conceptually what it means, what it does not mean. We are, as I have said many times, in the realm of faith. There you can enter on your knees, in silence and with love. Only God can explain it to you.

As Mother, She is also Queen, and Her majesty is linked to that of Jesus, because it arises from the continuous offering She makes together with Jesus, the continuous offering She makes for each one of us. Her royalty comes from Her participation in the Sacrifice of Christ, from being His perfect disciple, from being the perfect example of prayer, the perfect example of a Eucharistic Woman, the example of one who worships perfectly in spirit and truth and, then, after the institution of the Eucharist as one who perfectly worships Jesus also in the Eucharist; She is the example of perfect collaboration with the Holy Spirit as His Bride. In Mary all the characteristics of the Son of God, of the children of God are perfectly expressed, She lives all the beatitudes in a perfect way, She lives all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a perfect way and from there, under the cross, united with the Sacrifice of Jesus, Her royalty is born.

We have spoken to you several times about the plan of Mary Most Holy in Medjugorje[2]. We have presented Her to you as Co-Redemptrix[3], we have published words of St Joseph[4], words of St John, words of St Raphael, words of God the Father, of Jesus, of the Holy Spirit, all of whom present Mary Most Holy as this joy, this wonder. However, if we contemplate Her in a human way, She is also an example of humility and simplicity, nothing extraordinary, yet everything in Her is extraordinary, nothing exceptional, yet She is a miracle. Note that this should be the case of every Christian who, through offering himself to Mary, accepts the forgiveness of Jesus, receives the gift of the Holy Spirit and returns to the Father, throughout his life, in the passages, in saying ‘yes’ to God during his whole life.

What I recommend is to seek Mary Most Holy in Her essence, not only to ask for help in our life here on Earth, because we often seek Mary to obtain a miracle from Her, to obtain help from Her, and She willingly does so. I am not telling you not to ask for it, but I am telling you not to ask for it only for this reason.

How wonderful it is to discover Her for who She is! It will be wonderful for us, for you; it is not She who needs us, it is we who need Her. Seek Her as the one who can generate you for the life of God, as Mother, as Spouse of the Holy Spirit. Talk to Mary and talk about Mary. Contemplate Her life alongside Jesus, contemplate Her as She prays in order to learn how to pray; as She listens to Jesus, as She follows Him, as She meditates in Her heart on what He wanted to say to Her when She lost Him for three days[5], what Simeon wanted to say to Her when he said: “A sword will pierce your soul.[6] Contemplate Her as She seeks God’s will, as She penetrates God’s will; like us, a person who seeks God. Contemplate Her as She climbs Calvary. We too sometimes have to climb Calvary. Try to see Her as She follows Jesus Christ: She knows where She is going, She knows! Contemplate that dignity. Contemplate through Her what silence means – we have the message of St Joseph: virginal silence”[7] – but contemplate it in Mary, the Woman of silence, not because She did not speak, but because She knew how to meditate. And then, in the end, beneath the cross. What did it mean for Her to stand beneath the cross? She had to make a leap of faith: She was the only one on Earth who believed in the resurrection. At that moment, in which Her Son was hanging on the cross, helpless, crying out: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”[8], who could no longer breathe, who no longer had a single piece of good skin, a mask of blood. And there, below the cross, She continued to believe. Contemplate Her therefore as the one who truly has faith. This is faith. Sometimes we speak of ‘the faith of Abraham’, but I think that the faith of Mary Most Holy far exceeds even that of Abraham.

With all this, She did not finish. Contemplate Her as She gathers the first Church, in the Upper Room receiving the Holy Spirit. Together with John, I imagine Her receiving Peter, receiving all the apostles, sometimes receiving them alone, sometimes together, continuing to gather the Church of Her Son. And what is Her role in all this? Apostle, perfect apostle, perfect priest in Her royal priesthood, perfect… She is perfect in everything. She is Co-Redemptrix. But you will find nothing in Mary that is not perfectly united with Her Son Jesus, and that is why She is the Paradise of the Father.

I conclude by saying: look, Mary’s plan in Medjugorje – I invite you to go and reread the message on this website[9] – was to gather a people of children of God, to prepare this people as She prepared the first Christians, to prepare the apostles of this time, to prepare the priests of this time, both royal and ministerial priests, to prepare young people, to prepare couples, to prepare a people who is ready for the glorious return of Christ, ready for the times we are facing, the end times. This is Mary. You cannot separate Her from Jesus, you cannot separate Her from the Trinity, you cannot separate Her from the Church of Jesus Christ of the Universe, but everything that is not the Church is also separated from Mary and from the Church of Jesus Christ of the Universe.

And so I ask Mary to bless each one of us once again, to help us to remain in this light, to help us to find God’s will for each one of us, just as She found it, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
